The Vieques Film and Human Rights Festival opens its call

Its fourth edition has the right to remain as its main focus.

The Vieques Film and Human Rights Festival (FCDHV) opened the reception to film projects for its 4th edition, which will take place from February 1 to 4, 2024. Films that cover social and human rights issues, made from January 1, 2022 onwards, can participate in the competition. The registration deadline is October 10, 2023.

This fourth edition of the Vieques International Human Rights Film Festival has as its main focus the right to remain. This is understood as "the right to remain on our land, in our homes and neighborhoods without being displaced or forced out; this right facilitates a full quality of life, and the enjoyment of our natural assets and human rights."

Together with national and international personalities, universities, social organizations, communicators, artists, musicians and filmmakers, we seek to give the greatest possible impact to the claims of civil society regarding this issue, through sensitizing artistic activities and constructive debates.

​​National or international works, of a documentary or fiction nature, experimental, animation, video clips, work in progress, and new audiovisual formats, referring to any social and environmental theme that promotes in an original way, respect for human rights may participate. Films or videos sponsored by commercial companies that turn out to be, due to their content, advertising vehicles may not participate.
