The FCDHV continues to celebrate a wonderful festival

The Vieques Film and Human Rights Festival held its in-person screenings from December 8 to 11, dedicating its works to the memory of Robert Rabin Siegal. A short film was presented with details of his career, made by the documentary filmmaker Andrés Nieves Domínguez from Vieques.

The filmmaker Iara Lee from the production house Cultures of Resistance, was present at the opening and shared with those present. During its second day of projections, a selection of Puerto Rican and student short films was presented, with the participation of their filmmakers. The public was able to enjoy more than a dozen productions and ask their questions to directors.

International Human Rights Day was commemorated with an Environmental Fair for the whole family and the screening of For Those Who Come, a documentary by Defend Puerto Rico. The night closed with the talent of the band Cayo.

The closing of the activity took place at the Blue Horizon hotel, where the following recognitions by categories were delivered:

The jury was made up of: Maritxell Carrero, Matías Garrido and Neyda Martínez. The virtual selection of the festival will be available until January 30, 2022 and presents 17 international productions that can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
